ABOUT US
Mission Statement
The Latinx Law Students Association is dedicated to empowering Latinx students to become the next generation of attorneys that strive to achieve progress for our community. Prior to our name change, has been an active student organization for over 20 years. During this time, we have promoted the USF School of Law's mission of social justice and social equality through our active involvement in the San Francisco Bay Area community. Our strong alumni network, thought provoking events, and community involvement have made La Raza one of the most influential groups in the USF community.

Community Involvement
Academic & Professional Support
Social & Political Advocacy
- LLSA promotes various projects throughout the year to support community involvement. This year LLSA will collaborate with other student organizations to create panels with legal practitioners, faculty and community organizers that will give way to meaningful dialogue on various issues that face our community.
- LLSA encourages its members to volunteer and participate individually and as a group in under-served and underrepresented communities throughout the year to help build awareness, positive dialogue, community and coalitions.
- LLSA spearheads a 1L Mentorship Program, which places upper division law students with first year law students and helps them in their transition into the rigors of law school. LLSA also conducts a series of academic support workshops aimed at providing additional mentoring to first year students.
- LLSA also works with other professional organizations like the San Francisco La Raza Lawyers Association (SFLRLA) & the Association of Latino Marin Attorneys (ALMA) to provide mentors that will help guide our members with law school academics.
Academic & Professional Support
- LLSA understands the importance of training competent Latinx attorneys to increase the representation of attorneys of color within the legal profession. LLSA hosts professional development panels, including "Latinos in the Law Panel" and "Judges of Color Panel," in order to foster the professional development of minority law students.
- LLSA is an active member of SFLRLA, which aims at providing professional support and resources to Latinx students in the Bay Area.
Social & Political Advocacy
- LLSA advocates for training that prepares students to meet the needs of the legally underserved, particularly in the Latinx community. LLSA serves as an organizing force around Latinx political issues, particularly through social and political awareness events organized throughout the school year.
