Internships: Law Student Internship (Summer 2022) - Housing The Law Foundation of Silicon Valley is seeking a full-time law clerk to work in our Housing Department. The certified law clerk will work primarily in our direct services housing practice providing counsel and advice, brief legal services, and potentially full representation to low-income tenants facing eviction. The law clerk will also support the Law Foundation‘s housing impact litigation and policy advocacy by conducting legal research, case investigation, legal drafting, and interviewing clients and witnesses. Law Student Internship (Summer 2022) - Health The Health Program of the Law Foundation empowers people living with chronic health conditions including mental health, developmental disabilities, and HIV/AIDS to live more independent, secure, and satisfying lives by enforcing their legal rights and advancing their social and economic well-being. Health attorneys help clients resolve problems in the areas of mental health care and treatment, public benefits, health equity, and other legal issues. Health staff regularly conduct community outreach to local homeless shelters and have several medical-legal partnerships. (2) Law Foundation of Silicon Valley --Supervising Attorney The Law Foundation seeks to hire a Supervising Attorney to partner with the Directing Attorney and other Supervising Attorney to lead the Health Program. Key responsibilities include overseeing the management of direct services client caseloads, impact litigation, and advocacy. This role supervises a diverse team of lawyers and professional staff to build cases, represent clients in hearings and trials, drafting dispositive motions, and provide technical assistance, training, and outreach to mental health providers, consumers, and community members. Full-time Role: Supervising Attorney - Health (3) 2022 Ms. JD Fellowship Program For second-year law students, this one-year program is designed to foster a commitment to excellence in a new generation of women attorneys, inspired by the generation of trailblazers who paved the way for their success. It is an opportunity to develop new skills, grow your network, and learn how to build and develop your personal brand. Each Fellowship recipient is paired with a mentor chosen from among the Brent Award honorees, Spirit of Excellence Award recipients, and ABA Commission on Women in the Profession Commissioners. Accepted Fellows also receive invitations and financial support to attend ABA and Ms. JD events, specifically Ms. JD’s annual conference and the ABA’s annual meeting.
